Ken is an elder, teacher, and healer in the ancient shamanic tradition of Ka Ta See, which means "living in balance from the heart." His unique and inspiring services focus on individual and small group sessions and classes. His students, apprentices, and clients experience a rich, personal, and safe relationship with him. Students and clients are drawn to working with him because he provides the one-on-one time in which they feel seen, well understood, and unconditionally loved. They feel like they can share anything with him during sessions, which brings them healing and learning on many levels.

Ken works closely and effectively with the Spirits and Beings of Nature. This can be felt in sessions and classes with him and brings additional wondrous healing  energies and feelings to experiences with him. Students feel this and describe the space in which they meet with him as full of sacredness and peace.

Ken's work offerings include  teaching Ka Ta See and leading Ka Ta See ceremonies and spirit journeys. Because he will come to deeply know you and your way of learning and succeeding, his guidance will have that personal touch to help you in your awakening. You will be able to experience the ceremonies and journeys first-hand with him, which brings real knowingness and long-lasting results.

The primary format through which he teaches is an ongoing apprenticeship. An apprenticeship means that there is a special teacher-student relationship that unfolds over time. His own expeience has taught him that Students need time to discover and awaken. This is not something that can be rushed.

The teacher-student relationship is based on deep respect and caring. The student's best interest is of central importance at all times. This one-on-one work is essential because it allows the student the needed time, attention, and safe s[ace to express herself (himself), her challenges, and her dreams. Students learn with Ken what it is like for a teacher to be fully present on healing levels.

Due to his background and passion for spiritual counseling, Ken founded the Ka Ta See Counseling Apprenticeship Program. He teaches students explore how to offer shamanic counseling as a profession. The program is based on an ancient apprenticeship way of learning. In the program there are also group classes. The group experience fosters the opportunity for students to develop friendships and community with others who are studying Ka Ta See.

Ken also offers an ancient form of divination, one of the oldest in the planet, called a "Bone Throw." He is one of three people in the western culture known to offer this special "Ceremony of Calling the Spirits."  Traditionally this ceremony was predominantly learned and practiced by women. Due to his love for the Spirits and his passion for communicating with them, he was invited to engage in the Bone Throw Studies. After ten years of intensive study, he was given permission by the Spirits to offer this ceremony to the public.

In addition, Ken has applied the tools and knowledge of Ka Ta See to astrology to create the Shamanic Star Knowledge Apprenticeship Program. More information is available at the website, Shamanic Star Knowledge.

Since 1995 Ken has been learning Ka Ta See. It has been a central focus in his life since then. It has brought him into an extraordinary way of vibrant and enriched living. As Ka Ta See is not a fast food spirituality, he realized early in his studies that he needed to be willing to go the distance when learning this ancient knowledge. Anything less would be shortchanging the promising growth, transformation, and healing that Ka Ta See offers. Awakening is not an overnight process but one that requires years of staying with it. He discovered that the more he studied and lived Ka Ta See, the deeper the teachings went, touching every nook and cranny of his Beingness and body.

To be an elder, teacher, healer and Bone Thrower in this tradition requires a lifelong study, to which Ken has been dedicated.

Learning and living Ka Ta See is very different than being educated in the rote
inside-the-box ways of the asleep western culture. Ka Ta See instead brings striking levels of awakeness and awareness. It is rigorous in a beautiful way. The way of Ka Ta See requires that one get real and look inside to see and release habitual old programming, including the mind jabber, emotional roller coasting, arrogance and pretentiousness that make a mess of life. The releaseing of old programming brings great freedom and inner stillness.

Through decades of study with Kay Cordell Whitaker, a lineage carrier of the tradition, Ken has become an elder of Ka Ta See. Kay herself was
taught by Domano and Chea Hetaka, elder shamans of the medicine story-telling tradition. She apprenticed with them for thirteen years before they returned to Peru in South America. She tells the story of her apprenticeship in her books, The Reluctant Shaman and Sacred Link.

If you are interested in studying with Ken, know that he works with students, apprentices, and clients who are ready to go for their awakening in a substantial and ongoing way.

If you'd like to explore more, please contact him to talk about your goals. You will be engaging in a shamanic journey and a relationship that will help you be all of who you can be.

Ken lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
