Inspiring Energetic Dynamics Behind Healing
"When we heal ourselves, we heal the world."
"When we heal ourselves, we heal the world." This is a statement that can at first seem surprising. This is because we have not been taught the foundation in which deep rooted healing can take place in our western culture. It is very easy to believe that if we focus on fixing things outside of ourselves, such as fixing the ugly politics of the world that condone the heartless pollution of our water, air, and land, then we will be OK. While such things are undeniably important and while it is paramount that we stop contaminating our world, our own personal healing makes a huge difference to the well-being of our planet.
We each are made up of a field of energy. We often refer to this as our auric field. Everything in our auric field broadcasts out into the world 24-7. When we are feeling love, we send this feeling with energy into the world around us. Like waves that ripple out from us when we swim in a pond of fresh water, the love ripples out and touches everything. The same happens if we are harboring hate or fear in our unconscious and letting it control and discolor our thoughts and feelings. The hate and fear resonate outwards and brings disharmony to everything in its energetic path.
So imagine what happens when we send out warring thoughts and emotions toward someone. Let yourself imagine the impact this might have. Let's say we are disturbed by a government official who is making speeches and decisions that hurt women, or an ex-lover who coldly abandoned us, or an angry person who takes their rage out on his dog, or a beach walker who carelessly throws litter into the ocean. What are we doing with the our emotions, beliefs, and judgments about them? Are we letting them fester inside only to spew out of us like an oil spill?
When we do this kind of thing, and we are willing and courageous enough to observe the dynamics, we give ourselves the opportunity to see the impact we really are having on our world. It can be challenging to see these dynamics with a clear heart, if we let ourselves believe that we are totally justified in saying that someone is an f***king flaming as$h*le. We may not want to see when we really are energetically polluting our world with negativity. If we do choose to see it, we will reap a treasure of understanding and we will be much more able to respond in ways that actually bring healing energies to our planet.
What do we do then to heal ourselves and the world?
First we go within. We go inside with armfuls of unconditional love to help us be strong. We step into our inner world with the purpose of be honest with ourselves and to see what we have been allowing to fester in us. When we see this stuff, no matter how ugly or putrid or horrifying it may seem, we honor it. It has its place in the scheme of things. It has taught us something.
Then we let go of our hate and fear and anything else that is disturbing and disharmonious inside us. We let it all drop into Mother Earth who will honor and recycle the stuff and the energy infused in it.
When we let go, we make our auric field clearer and clearer. When this happens our radiance as Spiritual Beings grows fuller and fuller, brighter and brighter. Then our love begins to flow like a river and we will be in a stronger place of balance. From this place of balance and caring, we then can make decisions, choose responses, and take actions we wish to take, or send energies we wish to send, or information we wish to communicate.
When we heal ourselves, we bring a softness to our lives and our auric field that is indescribably exquisite. We have the joy of being whole and dancing in our soothing wholesomeness. When we heal ourselves, we resonate with healing energies, which can sound like birdsong that fills the air, bringing a lightness and sweetness to the environment. The power is always within us to heal ourselves and nature knows this.
Self-healing is a path to a rich feeling life. We humans have beautiful feelings and they are so wonderful to experience in many diverse ways. They also guide us and are much more effective then getting stuck in our heads.
Self-healing is also an offering. It is letting the universe know that we are willing to spill over with love and wonder and share your beautiful energies with all life.
